Stop the Gun Range in Wilson County!

Join us in protecting our homes from a gun range intended to be used as a

commercial security training facility.

This is NOT a 2nd Amendment issue!

Wilson County allows for shooting on personal property.
The intention of this gun range goes beyond a personal shooting hobby –
it WILL be used to profit a business by providing training opportunities for security personnel hired by Solaren Risk Management, as well as other interested entities.

This will affect the quality of life and property values of all residents nearby!

The Facts:

In 2022, 4280 S. Mt. Juliet Road was purchased by Jack Byrd III, owner of Solaren Risk Management – a company that provides security personnel for commercial and government clients. The lot purchased is zoned R1 – Rural Residential. Uses permitted in this zoning do NOT include a gun range, and are instead intended for single-family dwellings.

The Intent:

Mr. Byrd claims these shooting lanes are for “personal use,” but has publicly posted that this will be used as a training center.

He has also commented that he intends to allow anyone interested to use the range, including local law enforcement.

This gun range, clearly designed to exceed just personal use, has already disrupted the community with hours of shooting, explosive targets that shake the homes nearby, and fully automatic weapons.

Last year, the owner of the property stated himself that 5,500 rounds of ammunition were fired in ONE day.

This footage was recorded by a neighbor on April 12, 2025 – a Saturday

In this clip, you can hear just one of the 24 shooting lanes being used for a few seconds.

Imagine what this will sound like if all 20+ lanes are full – sunup to sundown.

The Wilson County Zoning Division has done all they can to
STOP
this commercial training facility
from being built
on residential property.

We need the Mayor and County Commissioners to come together and protect the integrity of our zoning ordinances.

Allowing this gun range to operate in a
residential area will open the door to
other commercial ventures
in all neighborhoods
in Wilson County!
